Basil is one of our all time favorites but it can be a very hard crop to get just right. We currently offer 3 different types of basil.
The Herb KING !
The name basil comes from the Greek work “basileus” or “king”. It is also attributed to the word “basilisk” a legendary dragon who could slay a person with just one glance. Romans on the other hand, believed the fragrance of basil stimulated love.
Although named by the Greeks, basil originated in India 5,000 years ago. In India today, the herb is considered a sacred herb.
All types of basil can be grown to Microgreen, Baby Green, Or Full sized leaf for whatever type you may need.
Basil Mini Greens or “Baby Greens” can be harvested anytime after the Micro Green stage. The flavour and aroma usually starts to intensify and become stronger through this stage of growth but the stems will also slowly become inedible and additional separation may be required in preparation.

Tomato Green Basil Caprese Salad
This creamy meat sauce is about as good as it gets. Juicy ground beef, sizzled with onion, garlic, basil, and oregano, and then transformed into a hearty, zesty tomato-cream sauce. Sounds gourmet, tastes decadent, but it comes together in minutes and it's healthy too!
